Our daughter Violet was diagnosed with Childhood Apraxia of Speech at 4 1/2 years old. We noticed that she was having trouble with her speech at 16 months old but because this disorder is so rare, it took a few years, many assessments and speech therapy sessions before an SLP familiar with CAS was able to help her. Now that Violet is in speech therapy focused on motor planning, she is making steady progress to finding her voice! She is a sweet and vibrant 7 year old that is full of personality and energy. She is happiest on the playground with her peers and is most excited when she is able to communicate that she wants to play with them.

We know that she has a lot that she wants to say and are excited for her future.

Who We Are

Our mission at Violet’s Spark is to illuminate the beauty of creative communication. We believe that by supporting rare disease research and speech therapy foundations, we can help every child's unique spark shine bright.
Inspired our journey with Skraban-Deardorff Syndrome (SKDEAS) and Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) we aim to normalize alternative communication tools—like gestures and AAC tablets—giving children a roadmap to celebrate differences and support one another.
